The audio-visual industry is ever-growing due to increased demands for entertainment as well as the advance of technology. This has required a whole new educational approach as well as a more open-minded approach when working in audio visual careers.
The name itself is a misnomer in that a degree in a program with this focus can include anything from running AV equipment to script writing. In a two year program you can become an AV technician whereas with four years of college, which provides broad-based knowledge in a variety of fields, can lead to more career opportunities within the field.
