Victims of the seniors’ mischief, the first day at college is marked by a lot of confusion for Pooja and Mandy. On reaching late for their class, the teacher debars them from attending her classes for the following week. In the college cafeteria, Mandy and Pooja are subject to ragging by the seniors. Appalled by the attitude of her classmates, Pooja breaks down and tells her mother that she will not go to St. Martin’s College. Set in contemporary India, Ye Meri Life Hai reflects the aspirations and dreams of today’s youth as they battle it out with conventions and norms to carve their own niche in the world. The story revolves around a vivacious teenager, Pooja, who belongs to a typical middle class Gujrati household but strives to fulfill her dream of becoming a film director some day.
